How to Replace HeartHero Elliot AED Pads
The HeartHero Elliot AED replacement pads are supplied in a box with clear instructions on how to install them into the device. Replacing the pads correctly helps ensure the AED is ready for use in an emergency.
What Comes in the HeartHero AED Pads Box?
Inside the box, the pads are supplied as a pad cartridge. The packaging includes structured guidance to help users fit the replacement pads safely and correctly.
The pad cartridge is sealed in a protective bag until it is needed. Once removed from the packaging, it can be installed directly into the HeartHero Elliot AED.
Removing the Old AED Pad Cartridge
To replace the pads, first remove the existing pad cartridge from the AED by pulling the handle and sliding the cartridge out of the unit.
On the side of the cartridge, there is a plastic clip. Release this clip to disconnect and remove the old pads. This may be required if the pads have been used or have reached their expiry date.
Always remove used or expired AED pads and replace them with a new pad cartridge.
Keeping the AED Pad Cables Tidy
The HeartHero Elliot AED is designed to keep the pad cables neatly in place. The cables are held behind rubber retainers to help prevent them from becoming tangled or loose.
If the cables are pulled out slightly during replacement, they can be tucked back into position before the cartridge is reinstalled.
Fitting the New HeartHero AED Pads
To install the new pad cartridge, line it up correctly with the connector point and press the clip firmly into place.
Make sure the connection is secure. If there is a problem with the pad connection, the AED will alert you to a fault.
The pad connector must be pushed firmly into place before the cartridge is returned to the unit.
Sliding the Cartridge Back into the AED
Once the pads are connected and the spare wires are tucked neatly inside, slide the pad cartridge back into the HeartHero Elliot AED.
When correctly fitted, the cartridge will click into position. The AED pads are then ready for use.
Checking Pad Expiry Dates and Serial Numbers
The outside of the replacement pad box includes a barcode and key pad information, such as expiry dates and serial numbers.
This information is also printed on the pads themselves, helping users check that the correct pads are being fitted and recorded.
Recording the pad expiry date is important for AED maintenance and compliance checks.
Registering Pad Details on The Circuit
If the HeartHero Elliot AED is registered as a community AED, the pad expiry date will need to be recorded on The Circuit.
The Circuit is used to help emergency services locate registered defibrillators, so keeping pad information accurate and up to date is an important part of AED management.
HeartHero AED Pad Replacement Summary
Replacing HeartHero Elliot AED pads is a straightforward process when carried out carefully. Remove the old pad cartridge, fit the new pads securely, check the connection, record the expiry date and update any AED registration details where required.
Correct pad replacement helps keep the AED emergency-ready and supports safe defibrillator maintenance.
